Sanjay Pasari - Achieve ‘Net Zero Emissions’

Can we achieve ‘Net Zero Emissions’ ?

sanjay pasari

Often speaking on global warming and climate change, Sanjay Pasari considers ‘Net Zero Emissions’ as a critical factor in ensuring a greener sustainable future.

The earth is heating at an alarming rate and there is an increase in carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gases, which is pushing the earth onto the horizon of the climate crisis.

The world has to wake up now before it is too late. Major world leaders in government, science, and business have all agreed that immediate action is required to stop future global warming. By roughly halving current carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions by 2030 and reaching net zero by 2050, it is generally agreed that the world must keep the rise in average global temperature to 1.5°C.

In the Paris Agreement of 2015, world leaders agreed that global warming should be kept well below 2°C and, preferably, to 1.5°C over pre-industrial levels. Within a predetermined timeframe, there will need to be a major decrease in greenhouse gas emissions, such as CO2, to prevent further global warming. That's where net zero comes in; by making sure that the quantity of greenhouse gas emissions released into the atmosphere is equal to the quantity taken from it, we'll be greatly reducing the quantity of harmful emissions that contribute to global warming.

Thus, ‘Net Zero Emissions’ should be followed in an expedited manner globally, putting clean energy transition in the prime focus. Such action will play a key role in ensuring a cleaner and greener global future.
